Being a parent is difficult job and the Morgan County Family Center has tools to help parents be successful.

Parents as Teachers

pat-logoParents as Teachers is a home visitation program for all families with children from prenatal to kindergarten age.  Parents as Teachers Educators make bi-weekly or monthly home visits depending on the family’s needs.   Educators offer child development information, activities to promote school readiness, parenting strategies, annual developmental screenings, information to promote family well-being and connections to community resources.

Nurturing Fatherhood Class

An evidence – based, 13-week training course designed to teach parenting and nurturing skills to men. Each 2 ½ hour  class provides proven, effective skills for healthy family relationships and child development. Fathers explore the Roots of Fathering, Self Nurturing, The Power to Nurture, and Overcoming Barriers to Nurturing along with other topics in this comprehensive program.

Partners in Parenting

pat-1Partners in Parenting focuses on strengthening family relationships and promoting positive behaviors and lifestyles. Parents learn skills for parent-child communication, developmental expectancies, guidance and discipline, problem solving and self care.
